Damage of Prairie Public broadcast tower causes outages

Email share

Prairie Public’s KJRE antenna near Kulm, N.D., was severely damaged by ice in late December, so over-the-air television broadcasts in that area are unavailable.

The outage only affects over-the-air viewing, and the network’s expanded viewing options are not impacted — including watching LIVE TV and on-demand content on the Prairie Public app, video.prairiepublic.org and PBS app, all available on smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, or computers.

A replacement antenna will be installed as soon as possible but could take as long as several months, dependent on weather and tower crew availability.
